WEST MIFFLIN BOROUGH

 

West Mifflin Borough Council has allocated $150,000 from the Capital Funds Project to pave West Mifflin Borough roads. The roads to be paved ( in random order) are: Hoffman Blvd.(Commonwealth Ave. to Kennywood Mall); St. Agnes Lane (Public Works Department to Bull Run); Municipal Road( Bull Run Culvert to Municipal Road); Helena St.( Lebanon School Road to Girl's Softball Complex); and Old Elizabeth Road( Lebanon School Road to Bluemont Drive). Roads to be paved from Allegheny County Funds are: Eliza Street( Eastman Street to Shady) and Corbin Street( Eliza Street to Everlawn Street).

 

Council, working together, have begun the restoration of our roads.

CONGRATULATIONS!!

 

#1-for the FIFTH consecutive year by Darkride and Funhouse Enthusiasts."Dark attractions" refers to those walk-or ride-through amusements with funhouses or haunted house themes. Kennywood houses Noah's Ark and The Exterminator.

 

Kennywood boasts "the only remaining Noah's Ark attraction in the U.S. Kennywood has retained these historic attractions while other amusement parks removed theirs a decade ago. Kennywood is keeping one eye on its historic past while always looking toward providing pleasure for  future generations.

  
 Whitaker Memorial Day Service Affirms Fight Against Terrorism
 
At the Borough of Whitaker Mermorial Day Service, a letter was read by 1st Lt. Daniel Graham, U.S. Army Reserves 99th RRC, from the Mayor of Tall 'Afar, Iraq, Najim Abdullah Abid Al-Jibouri, thanking and acknowledging the commitment and dedication of the United States Armed Forces in the fight against terrorism.  "To the Courageous Men and Women of the 3rd Armored Cavalary Regiment, who have changed the city of Tall 'Afar from a ghost town, in which terrorists spread death and destruction, to a secure city flourishing with life.   .........   I pray to God to grant happiness and health to these legendary heroes and their brave families."   To read the full letter, follow this link:  http://www.wmmayor.com/iraqi_mayor.aspx
